EVELYN B. CARABETTA

MERIDEN: Evelyn B. (Miller) Carabetta, 83, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Carabetta, of Meriden, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at their residence.

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, June 26, 1924, daughter of the late Rexford H. and Beatrice E. (Harrington) Miller, she had been a Meriden resident for many years. Evelyn was employed in the business offices of the former World War II Veterans Memorial Hospital in Meriden for 36 years until her retirement in 1991 and was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden.

She is survived by her children, John J. and Gail Carabetta of Meriden, Patricia (Mrs. James) Carabetta of Meriden, Richard J. and Sheila Carabetta of Gilbert, AZ and Suzanne C. and Philip Daigle of Bristol; her five grandchildren, Brian Carabetta, Sr., Michael Carabetta, Matthew Carabetta, Kimberly Heck and Stacey Wiernasz; her six great grandchildren, Brian Carabetta, Jr., Lauren Carabetta, Katelynn Carabetta, Christina Carabetta, Noah Hayden and James Carabetta and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Joseph she was predeceased by a son, James J. Carabetta.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext. Wallingford, Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Rose of Lima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
