Life Legacy
Anthony Francis Pragano, 77, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his home. He was the loving husband of Cynthia Cusano Pragano.
He was born and raised in New Haven, July 27, 1932, a son of the late Antonio and Anna Gambardella Pragano and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Anthony was a vocalist entertaining for many years and had been employed by the Southern CT Gas Company for 18 years.
Besides his wife Cynthia, he is survived by his children; his sons James Spambanato and his wife Barbara of North Haven, Sean Pragano and his wife Patti of Mooresville, N.C.; his daughters Debra Pragano of East Haven, Gina Spambanato of Wallingford and Denise Sirois of Cheshire; his 6 grandchildren Nicholas and Samantha Spambanato, Jacqueline and Lauren Sirois, and Sean Patrick and Cameron Pragano; his sister Mary Vanacore of West Haven, his brother Gabriel Pragano and his wife Rose of West Haven; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Pragano of West Haven; Anthony and Barbara DeMatteo of East Haven; Fran Pragano of Meriden; Mona and Dave Hall; and Bill Ramirez all of C.A.; and several nieces and nephews including his special, loving and caring niece Sandi Arminio. He was predeceased by his brothers Manuel and Richard Pragano.
His family would like to express a special thanks to oncologist Dr. Chao and Dr. Margaret Becker of the West Haven V.A. for their dedicated and exceptional care.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Saturday, July 17, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to SS. Peter and Paul Church, 127 North Orchard St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450.
