Frederick W. Booth Jr.

WALLINGFORD: Frederick Way Booth Jr., 72, of Stoney Brook Rd., Wallingford, died, Monday, March 1, 2010, in St. Augustine, FL. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann DeSena Booth.

He was born in New London, June 13, 1937, a son of the late Frederick W. Booth Sr., and Eunice Cook Booth. As a young man he was a accomplished athlete who once held state swimming records. He was a graduate of Cheshire Academy, Dean Junior College and Syracuse University. An oil businessman for over 50 years, he had been the Co-Proprietor of Booth-Waltz Enterprises and G.H. Berlin Oil Company which grew from a family business into a regional distributorship throughout New England, New York and New Jersey. The company is a Major sponsor of Muscular Dystrophy Association. As an avid sports fan, he supported all of UConn sports and the Boston Red Sox. He was a past member of the Farms Country Club, and a member of Masonic Corinthian Lodge #104, and the Snake Meadow Rod and Gun Club in Moosup.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he is survived by his son, Frederick W. Booth III and his wife Kristin of Wallingford; his cherished three grandchildren, Connor, Kellen and Alexis; his sister, Roberta Booth Juliano and her husband Bruno Juliano of North Haven; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday, March 5, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 S.
