William James Wrathall III, 72, of Wallingford, died, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of 50 years of Joan P. Marrinan Wrathall.
He was born in Suffern, NY on December 2, 1937, a son of the late William J. Wrathall Jr. and Carol Canning Wrathall and was raised in Mahwah, NJ. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed boating, camping and model trains. His wonderful sense of humor will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by his two sons, William Wrathall IV and his wife Jean, and Thomas Wrathall and his partner Dawn Ellison; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband Edin, Victoria, Michael and Timothy; his great grandchildren, Jasmina, Jenna, and Zachary; his special daughter-in-law, Sheila; his in-laws, Gerald and Anne Marrinan of Florida, and Jamie Sheridan of New York; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Wendy; his grandsons, Jimmy and Charles; his sister, Nancy; and his sister-in-law, Marie.
His family would like to thank Dr. Nadkarni, Dr. Kratzer, the staff of MidState Oncology and the V.N.A. for their excellent care and kindness over the last two years.
A graveside service will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, Monday, March 1, at 12 p.m. Gifts in his memory may be sent to MidState Medical Center Cancer Center, 455 Lewis Avenue, #102, Meriden, CT 06451.
