Biography


WALLINGFORD: Isabelle Dortenzio Biondino, 94, of Ridgewood Rd , Wallingford , passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 after a short illness at MidState Medical Center . She was the wife of the late Charles J. Biondino.

Mrs. Isabelle Biondino was born in Bridgeport , and was the daughter of the late Charles and Angeline Petrucelli Dortenzio. She graduated from Warren Harding High School and from the Butler School of Business. Early in her career she was employed by D.M. Read Company as a Buyer.

A founding member and communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, She was a member of the Ladies’ Guild. She was a member of the Black Rock Garden Club, and Past President of the Seedling Gardeners, and Past President of the Wallingford Garden Club. She was a Member and Past President of Alpha Gamma and Xi Beta Examplar Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She was also Past President of the Newcomer Club of Wallingford, and a member of Chapter #3036 of the American Association of Retired Persons. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed the Yankees, books, political discussions and visits from Wolf at home and in the hospital

She leaves her sons, C. Robert Biondino, and his wife Sharon, and Bruce E. Biondino, all of Wallingford . She was predeceased by her son, Boyd, and her sister, Edith Meyer, and her brothers, Ralph and Laurence Dortenzio. Her remaining sister, Marilyn Forselius resides in Orange . She leaves seven grandchildren, Rob of Castle Rock, CO, Alysha of Denver, CO, Jim of Meriden, Jena of Meriden, Giancarlo of Cheshire, Marissa of Southington and Francesca of Cheshire; several nieces and nephews; and two great grandchildren, Brendan and Chaz Biondino of Castle Rock, CO., as well as her daughter-in-laws, Paula and Mary Biondino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd , Yalesville section of Wallingford . Interment will be private in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford . There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454 , Alexandria , VA 22312
