Life Legacy
WALLINGFORD: Eleanor Clack Kubeck, 81, of Riverside Dr., Wallingford, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 28, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Kubeck, Sr.
She was born in Meriden, November 23, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert E. Clack Sr., and Mary Everlee Jolly Clack and had been a lifelong Wallingford resident. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and was a Certified Medical Assistant for Dr. William Gates in Wallingford for 25 years. She was a member and Past President of the Wallingford Junior Women's Club where she was the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award. She had been a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and taught Sunday school for 11 years. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Kubeck was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Wallingford Country Club where she had a hole-in-one and was known as “Big El” because of her long drives. She was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and loved the UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams.
In addition to her husband Joseph of 60 years, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided, Mary K. and Greg Peterson of Wallingford; her two sons, Joseph F. Kubeck Jr. of Panama City Beach, FL, and James M. Kubeck and his wife Sharon of Meriden; her beloved daughter-in-law, Nicole Kubeck of Middletown; her grandchildren, Kathryn, Elizabeth and Andrew Peterson, Jay and Brian Kubeck, Allison Bryant and her husband Karl, Jennifer Marshall and her husband Todd, James Kubeck, Kathryn Kubeck Davis and her husband Tory, and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a large extended family, including her cousin Liz Douglas and a dear sister-in-law Eleanor A. Kubeck. She was predeceased by her brothers, James and Albert Clack.
She was devoted to her family who loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 1, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 65 N. Main St., Wallingford, CT 06492. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
