George W. Freeman Jr., 72, of Gainesville, GA, formally of Wallingford, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family of his wife, Grace Marie (Miller) Freeman, his daughter, Sherry Theresa Freeman, her fiancé, Christopher Fama, and his only granddaughter Brittany Ariana Borzillo, all of Gainesville, GA on August 17, 2013 at his residence.

George was born in Lewiston, Maine, October 1, 1940, a son of the late George W. Freeman Sr. and Beatrice (Paradis) Freeman. He was a Wallingford, CT resident since 1971. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy from February 19, 1959 until February 14, 1963. George was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. George worked at American Cyanamid in 1970 for 8 years as a maintenance supervisor. He then retired from UpJohn Pharmaceuticals after 22 years working as a Maintenance Supervisor. He then went on to work at Uniroyal Chemical for 5 years as a Supervisor. Finally, he retired from Allegheny Ludlum after 6 ½ years in waste treatment. George was also an avid photographer and model boat builder.

He is predeceased by his son George W Freeman III; his brother Daniel Freeman of Jacksonville, FL; and sister Donna (Freeman) Levesque of Meriden, CT. George is also survived by his brothers, James Freeman of Dayton, OH, Bruce Freeman and his wife Linda of Yulee, FL, John Freeman of Waterbury, CT, Doug Freeman and wife Donna of Port St John, FL, and Brian Freeman and wife Robin of Titusville, FL; his sisters, Laurene (Freeman) Lee and her husband Ben of Wallingford, CT, and Maureen (Freeman) Costa and her husband Dave from Spartanburg, SC; his sister-in-law, Barbara Freeman of Jacksonville, FL; his brother-in-law John Iannuzzi of Meriden, CT; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

His Family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville section of Wallingford on Friday, August 23, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday from The Yalesville Funeral Home at 9 a.m. When the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St John Cemetery in Wallingford.
